Describe your current position and what made you interested in applying?

I am currently working as a Senior Executive within the Investigation, Litigation and Enforcement Business Support Group for CACI International Incorporated (Inc.). I am a member of the senior management team responsible for expanding its investigation and litigation business practice and development activities to provide enterprise-wide support in to federal government investigatory, litigation, and oversight agencies. I am leading a high performing team of 10K+ employees (lawyers, para-legal, economists, consultants & IT expert personnel). I was personally credited for winning over $2 billion in federal contracts and possess an entrepreneurial spirit that drives significant gains in accelerated corporate revenue and bottom–line profits.

I previously worked full-time at ManTech International and served as a program manager for one of their prime contracts at the State Department. One of my former clients was GW graduate and mentioned the MIPP program at the Elliott School. My curiosity for program grew, and so I decided to enroll to further advance my career. The program included rigorous academic training with courses taught by many world-renowned faculty (e.g. Prof. Chris Kjom, Prof. David Alan Grier and Prof. Nick Vornatas).  The MIPP program prepared me well on how to better manage very dynamic and large complex corporate environments. The program strengthened my analytical and communication skills to be an effective leader in implementing technology innovation and organizational change at my current organization.

What do you wish other people knew about your organization?

CACI International – is not only focused on Federal DOD Contracting, there is also an IT focus.

What Elliott School courses would you recommend for students interested in your field and why?

IAFF 6118 Leadership in International Affairs

IAFF 6503 Writing for International Policymakers

IAFF 6142 Technology Creation/Diffusion.

These courses were so much practical and I was able to leverage it at my current work.

What was your experience with the job search post-graduation?

After graduating from the program, I was recruited by a ManTech competitor and given more responsibilities and money to manage technology implementation at the Department of Justice that keeps Americans safe by countering international crime, illegal drugs, and instability abroad. This role helps other countries deliver justice and fairness by strengthening their police, courts, and corrections systems. These efforts reduce the amount of crime and illegal drugs reaching U.S. shores, and the portfolio I manage requires strong collaboration from various stakeholders to reduce illicit trafficking, advance public safety and security, and promote social justice.

If you were a box of cereal, what kind would you be and why?

Purple Yam Ube – this fruit is particularly famous in the Philippines, I tried their ice cream and waffles which were super delicious.
